Small’s Mortuary, Inc. & Cremations Services was a life-long vision of Mr. C’aracher (CJ) Small, Jr. Mr. Small’s dream was to open his own funeral establishment that would offer a sense of pride and dignity to the people of Mobile and surrounding areas. He envisioned a funeral home that would meet the needs and desires of the people of whom he served and offer them a sense of comfort, confidence and consistency in personalized service.

On February 24, 2002, the grand opening service was held in the chapel of Small’s Mortuary with a ribbon cutting ceremony witnessed by hundreds of people. Since this commencement, hundreds of families have entrusted their loved ones into the care of the professional and courteous staff and administration of Small’s Mortuary.

With strong support from the Board of Directors, Staff and the community, Small’s Mortuary has stood up to its MOTTO: “Large enough to serve you, yet SMALL enough to appreciate your business” and its four “D’s” reputation, DISTINCTIVE, DEDICATED, DILIGENT AND DIGNIFIED.
