Brother Karey Stuart Pettway “KP” was a lifetime native and resident of Mobile, AL, born March 24, 1960. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

He confessed Christ and was a member of the Prayer Tabernacle E.C.O.J.C.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lytyna Felicia McCants Pettway; his mother, Bettye Jo Pettway; mother-in-law, Annie Thigpen Miller; and nephew, Donald McCants, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, four devoted children: Marcus (Tiffany) McCants, Quinta (Endia) McCants, Ciara (Kenneth) McCants and Latoya (Lorenzo) McCants of Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren: Marcus McCants, McKenzie McCants, Samauri Lucas, Morgan McCants, Steven Lucas, McKenli McCants and Kayden Williams all of Mobile, AL; parents, Ledell (Dorothy) Pettway, Sr. of Theodore, AL; three sisters: Joyce (James) Gamble, Betty (Jaye) Davenport and Jennifer Lee of Charlotte, NC; four brothers: Karl (Sandra) Pettway, Ledell (Tawana) Pettway, Jr., Vincent (Jeri) Nelson all of Mobile, AL, and Solomon Rudolph of Morristown, NJ; four aunts: Lucy (Henry) Thomas of Belle Glade, FL, Bertha (Willie) Yelder, Mildred Jones of Texas and Ruby (Ben) Dinkins of Mobile, AL; four uncles: Milton (Patricia) Beard, Roy Allen, Joseph Carey and Robert Carey of Mobile, AL; three great-aunts: Catherine Millhouse of Theodore, AL, Emerine Banks of Cleveland, OH, Ester Beard of Wilmer, AL; one great-uncle, Cornet Beard of Mobile, AL; six brothers-in-law: Michael (Shirley) Miller of Atlanta, GA, Donald (Darlene) McCants, Ervin (Darlene) Miller, Karlos (Melanie) McCants, Darrin (Rebbie) Miller and Willie Bettis all of Mobile, AL; two sisters-in-law: Annie Miller and Sonja (Antonio) Bendolph both of Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces, one devoted, Jamesia Gamble; nephews, four devoted: Roderick and Taiwan Pettway, Michael Miller and Kevin McCants; four devoted friends: Bobby Abrams, Darrell Hayes, Melvin Jackson and Tony Daniels; and a host of other relatives and friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1-8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10am until the 12noon funeral hour at Prayer Tabernacle Church, Mobile Street, Mobile, Alabama.

Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL
