Alfred Maurice Dowell, 68, of Mobile, AL, passed on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
Alfred loved children and was a coach for Peanut and Pee Wee Football and T-Ball and Coach Pitch Baseball at Crawford Park for 12 years, and Pee Wee Football at Trimmer Park for a year; he also loved watching football. Alfred worked in retail sales of cookies and beer/wine for over 30 years. Alfred was an active member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish until his health declined.
He is survived by his wife, Lanetta of 47 years; daughters: Aneeko (Carlos) Tomas and Stacey Dowell, both of Mobile, AL; son: Alfred Mandelle (Abigail) Dowell of Nashville, TN; sister: Gloria Wells; brothers: Adolph (Teal) Dowell, Aidan (Sandra) Dowell; mother-in-law: Geneva Julio; brothers-in-law: Vernon (Treva) Julio, Geary Julio; sisters-in-law: Faye (Lewis) Williams, Jeneice Julio; grandsons: Diego, Santiago and Gabriel Tomas of Mobile, AL; granddaughter: Mabel Dowell of Nashville, TN; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Alfred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 9am until the 10am funeral hour at Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church, 1621 Boykin Blvd, Mobile, AL. Alfred will be laid to rest in the Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL. Memorial dononatios may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
