Henry Bowling Jr. “JuneBug”, a native of Greenwood, Mississippi and a resident of Mobile, AL, was born on September 25, 1937 to Henry and Addie Bowling (Gaston). He passed on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

In 1955, Henry enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably, retiring after 23 years of faithful and diligent service. His postings included many Air Force installations, domestic and abroad, during peace keeping and wartime (Vietnam) engagements. Upon his transition from service, Henry joined the US Post Office work force and diligently served, retiring after 20 years of service. While embarrassed to be acknowledged as a double retiree, he honorably wore his jacket showing the double service retirement emblems.

After his final retirement, his interests remained on fishing, crabbing, listening to his oldies music and enjoying his family.

Through the union with Carolyn Oliver, he is survived by his four children, Patricia (Anthony) Buxton of Harrisburg, PA, Richard (Alison) Bowling of Forestville, MD, Henry (Renea) Bowling, III of Accokeek, MD, and Karen (Calvin Lane) Bowling of Mobile, AL; three grandsons: Richard Jr, Terrell, and Peyton “Pete”; two nieces; a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 9am until the 10am funeral hour in Small’s Mortuary Chapel, Mobile, Alabama. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS.
