Gwendolyn Faye Grissett, a native Mobilian, departed this life on Saturday, September 17, 2011. She was born to the late Hubert and Inez Grissett. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard R. Grissett, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories four devoted sisters, Irene M. Miles, Nellie G. Allen, Sylvia Denson, all of Mobile, AL and Frances McBride of Stoneville, NC; five brothers, Hubert, Jr., Robin (Maxine), Alfred, David Grissett, all of Mobile, AL and Ross (Sonia) Grissett of Evanston, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Small's Mortuary, Mobile , AL. Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour with the Rev. Levi Summer, Pastor and officiating minister, followed by interment in Whispering Pines Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL. Dignified and Professional Services Entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street , Mobile , AL 36603 .
