Mr. George A. Henderson, Sr. "Diego", a native of Mobile, Al was born May 14, 1925 and transitioned from earth to glory on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. George was a retired Seaman of the national Maritime Union with an honorable discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard and a retiree from Pinkerton Security Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Dasmore Henderson; two daughters, Gale Henderson Roberts and Carolyn Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted children, Linda H. Johnson, Victoria (Tom) Nolan, Valerie (James) Henderson, Nadine (Tommy) Bivens, Willie Mae (Donald) Scott, George (Dolores) Henderson, Scobie (Hattie Lee) Henderson, Darryl (Bebette) Henderson, Doeshell & Kimberly Henderson; sister, Katie McCall; a devoted cousin, Earline Dennis Tibbs; sister-in-law, Olivette Henderson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 1pm to 8 pm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 9 am until the 11:30 am funeral hour at Small's Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mobile, AL.
