Marvin Reese Powe--A native and lifelong resident of Prichard, Alabama born January 1, 1955 passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at a local hospital. He was the son of the late Fred and Leona Powe. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria, and his brothers, Joseph, Lee Winston and Charles Powe. He is survived by his children, Quandraline (Tyrone) Swopes, Angela Powe, Candace Powe and Christopher McCullough all of Mobile, AL; siblings, William Powe, Fort Worth, TX, Patricia (Andrea’) Reid, Eight Mile, AL, Hazel Powe and Edward Powe, Prichard, AL and Harold Powe, Mobile, AL; four grandchildren; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including two very special loved ones, Ms. Geraldine Smith and Mr. Norman Washington. His remains will lie in state Friday, April 13, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Antioch Baptist Church, 350 Chandler Street, Prichard, AL, Rev. James Robinson, Pastor and Rev. Forrest Smith Sr., Officiating Minister. The interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
