Obituary for Alice Renee Hunter

Alice Renee Hunter was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. She was the tenth child born to Leslie Hunter, Sr. and Carrie Mae Collins Hunter on June 10, 1967. She received her formal education in the Mobile County Public School System. She was a 1985 graduate of Cedar Grove Academy. She continued her education at S.D. Bishop State and graduated from Rhone’s Beauty School. Alice confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Christian Union Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Music Ministry, the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and the Young Adult Sunday School Class until her health failed. Alice regularly attended the National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA. She was also a faithful tither. Alice was employed by Mobile Infirmary Medical Center for 23 years as a Messenger and retired as a Critical Care Unit Secretary. Alice also enjoyed singing for the Lord, cooking, being the family’s comedian and a Mary Kay Consultant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Leslie Jr. and Albert Lee Hunter, and her sister, Mildred Hunter Vincent.

She leaves to cherish her memories her siblings, Dorothy B. Hunter, Howard (Malbis) Hunter, Sr., Iris Richardson, Carolyn (Elder Jeffrey) Rainey, Jacqueline (Sylvester Sr.) McMillian of Augusta, GA, Frederick J. Hunter, and Tracey L. Hunter; and a cousin raised as a brother, LeDerrick Collins; ten nieces and nephews: Cheryl (Melvin) Thompson of Opelika, AL, Michelle Hunter, Angelita Smith, Howard Hunter, II, Cynthia Hunter, Caryn (Brandon) Scott, all of Mobile; Sylvester McMillian, Jr. of Augusta, GA, Alonzo (Zaressa) Richardson, III, Carmen (Brandon) Brown both of Birmingham, AL, and Leslie McMillian of Atlanta, GA; four great-nephews, Nicholas Owens, Jr. of Mobile, Kameron Hunter of Vrenburgh, AL., Ethan Smith and Caleb Scott both of Mobile; one great-niece, Karrington Hunter of Vrenburgh, AL; one Goddaughter, JaKayla Armstrong; Special friends: Charlene Armstrong, Delvin Carstarphen, Donald Collins, Isabella Peoples, Queen Pettway, Nicole Polk, Flora Shade, Kathy Smith, and Myra Smith; a host of cousins and friends.
