Obituary for Anita Joyce Preyer

Anita Joyce Williams Preyer was born in Riderwood, Alabama on September 27, 1947 to the late George Williams, Sr and Erma Stewart and Joseph Stewart, Sr. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George Williams, Jr. and Joseph “Buck” Stewart, Jr.; two granddaughters, Zana and Chelsea Preyer and one nephew, Brian Williams.
Anita worked as a Deaconess, Matron, Choir member and worked with the Eastern Shore Association until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish many memories, a loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Willie Preyer; five sons: Melvin, Willie Darnell, both of Mobile, AL; Roderick (Gloria) of Lisman, AL; and Reginald of Birmingham, AL, and Nathaniel (Ida) of Mobile, AL; two daughters, Tisunja “T.J.” Preyer of Semmes, AL and Cynthia Preyer-Hale of Mobile, AL; two brothers: Terry Williams (Shirley) of Ellenwood, GA and Larry Williams of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Diane Wilkerson and Verlsie Green both of Detroit, MI; her devoted mother-in-law, Nancy Preyer-Swindle; two sister-in-laws, Vanetta Williams of Nashville, TN and Janie Culberson of Mobile, AL; two brother-in-laws, Charles Preyer of Brooklyn, NY and Baron Peavy of Mobile, AL; Twenty-six grandchildren, one devoted, Taaylor Hale of Mobile, AL; Twenty-seven great grandchildren; A host of nieces, five devoted, Lisa and Nancy Preyer both of Brooklyn, NY, Melissa McCarty (Maurice), Kristie Burke (Edwin), and Charlene Orange all of Mobile, AL; a host of nephews, a host of cousins, four devoted, Cynda Marie Tyes of Huntsville, AL, Erma Jean Leverette of Birmingham, AL, Cynthia Mose (Johnny) of Eight Mile, AL, and Raymond Bumpers of Mobile, AL, a host of Godchildren, one devoted Betty Lawson of Mobile, AL, a host of other relatives and friends, four devoted Thelma Garror, Melvina Hester, Janie Mae Wallace, and Cora Young. So many others we know were dear to her as well.
