Obituary for Annette Maxine James

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER ANNETTE MAXINE JAMES was born on October 9,1960 in Mobile, AL and resided in Camp springs, MD. She transitioned this life into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jake and Mable James, two sisters: Odessa Trammel and Amy Ellis Lee, and four brothers: Jake James Jr., Donald Johnson, William (Sandra) Ellis Sr, and McAllister (Rose) James. She leaves to cherish her memories three sisters: Anna Nelson of Mobile, Al, Annie Mary (A.B.) Jackson of Mobile, Al, and Deborah Forrest of Mobile, Al and a host of nieces and nephews.

Annette made a profession of faith and carried with her in word and deed. She was a Veteran of the US Navy for 40 years. She received numerous medals and commendations. Including, Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service deployment Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. While serving her country, she received her masters degree in Finance & Management from Troy University & Military College.

After retiring from the Military, Annette was then employed by The Department of Defense as a Financial Analyst.
Her passion for life was evident by the many acts of compassion and kindness she gave to family, friends, and neighbors. Her mantra was found in Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
