Obituary for Annie Carol Dees (Brown)

Annie Carol Brown Dees was born March 9, 1941 to Reverend
Prince Albert Brown and Alice Bolden Brown in Chunchula,
Alabama. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, February
16, 2024.

Annie Carol accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age
and united with Starlight Baptist Church.
Annie Carol attended Rosa A. Lott High School in Citronelle, AL
and graduated in the Class of 1960. She was the “Salutatorian”
second highest in her graduating class and received two scholarships.
She went on to further her educated at Alabama A&M University in
Huntsville, AL. She was employed with International Paper
Company in Mobile AL in 1968. She retired February 1, 1998 after
completing thirty years of dedicated service as one of their esteemed
employees.

Annie Carol lived and raised her three children in Mt. Vernon, AL for
thirty-one years. She united with United Primitive Baptist Church as
a member of the choir until she became First Lady of Peace and
Goodwill Baptist Church of Brewton, AL; and later Mt. Hebron
Primitive Baptist Church of Thomaston, AL until the passing of her
husband, Pastor Charlie Mike Dees, Jr.

Mrs. Annie Carol Dees and her husband moved to Semmes, AL in
1993. After the passing of her husband, she joined Mt. Calvary
Baptist Church in Prichard, AL for a short stint of time until she
became very ill and was confined to her bed for thirteen years. She
then spent the rest of her life with her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren who she loved dearly until her passing.
Annie Carol was united in holy matrimony to the Reverend Charlie
Mike Dees, Jr. of Mount Vernon AL. They shared forty-five years
together until his passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Prince Albert
Brown, Sr. and Mrs. Alice Bolden Brown; her husband, Reverend
Charlie Mike Dees, Jr.; three brothers and four sister.
Annie Carol leaves to cherish her precious memories, three devoted
children: Cheryl Rene’ Dees and Darla (Rev. Timothy) Rocker both of
Semmes, AL and Michael Dees of Temecula, CA; five grandchildren:
three devoted: Frederick Bettis, Jr., Jarvis Bettis and Ashley
Hightower all of Mobile, AL; ten great-grandchildren; one devoted,
Adryn Rocker of Semmes, AL; two sisters: Dorothy Allen of Moss
Point, MS and Jacqueline (Rev. Johnny) Townsel of Lucedale, MS;
a brother-in-law, Walter (Verdell) Dees of Mt. Vernon, AL, a brother-in-law, Willie Moody of Moss Point, MS; one
sister-in-law, Catherine Roberson of Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
