Obituary for Anthony Nodd

Mr. Anthony Nodd, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama was born October 15, 1956 to the union of
George and Catherine Nodd, Sr. Anthony departed this earthly life Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at a local hospital,
surrounded by his family and friends.

Tony was a proud graduate of Lillie B. Williamson High School, Class of 1975. While attending he played a
significant role as the equipment manager for the football team as well as an active member of the Imperial Knights Club. After graduation, he attended Carver State Technical where he achieved a certification in welding. He held gainful employment for many years as a machine operator for the Foundry (known today as Mobile Pulley Works).
After retiring from the Pulley Works, he continued employment with O & B Package Store, Russell Package Store, several self-employed businesses and finally Gordon Oaks Retirement.

Tony did not just attend Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church as an elementary student, he was a member there during his
childhood days. It is at Mt. Calvary where Tony came to profess the Lord as his Savior. Upon marriage, Tony did not
change his membership, however he frequently visited his father-in-law’s congregation and remained a faithful tither.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Nodd, Sr.; his mothers-in-law: Willie Mae Lee and Mary Lee; his father-in-law, Reverend Albert Lee, Jr.; two brothers: George Nodd, Jr. and Larry Nood; one sister, Reverend Patricia Nodd Lucky; and his granddaughter, Lon’Don Channey Nodd.

Tony leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Cheryl LeVon of thirty-seven years. Together they began their family unit of three children: one daughter, Alicia Nodd and two sons: Antonio and Antwuan (Ashley) Nodd. As
their family continues to expand, he leaves in memory: six grandchildren: James Jr. and Jameria Pearson, Justice Nodd, Jaakil Williams, Arniya and Arnae Bowie, Jr. all of Mobile, AL; four dearly loved sisters: Kathleen (Albert) Moore, Jr., Glenda Nodd, Sheila (Stanley) Robinson, Sr. and Valeria Nodd all of Mobile, AL; one devoted brother, Kenneth (Cheryl Ann) Nodd of Mobile, AL; two sisters-in-law: Carstella Osbourn and Bessie Brown both of Mobile, AL; two brothers-in-law: Albert Lee, III of Mobile, AL and Russell Jackson of Philadelphia, PA; one aunt, Mae Bell Nord of Monroeville, AL; one devoted goddaughter, Kesha Robinson of Mobile, AL; a huge host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
