Obituary for Anthony Wilson

Pastor Anthony Wilson, a native of Whistler, Alabama and a resident of Mobile, Alabama departed this life comforted by his loving wife of 36 years, Karla. Anthony was born on September 20th, 1956 in New York, New York as the youngest child to the late Beauford and Earl Wilson Sr.Anthony was a proud graduate of Vigor High School, where he played varsity football. After graduating, Anthony attended Bishop State College. He was employed by Masland Carpets Company in Saraland, Alabama for 41 years.


In 1998 Anthony accepted the Call by God to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In June 2001 he graduated from the International Michal Ministries Institute in Pensacola, Florida. Pastor Anthony began his journey as a clergyman at The Word Christian Center in Semmes, Alabama where he faithfully served as pastor for 14 years. For 20 years Anthony fulfilled his calling with dedication and love. He ministered to the residents at the Agape House: Director, Shirley Bishop; Strickland Youth Center: Mobile, Alabama; Waterfront Rescue Mission: Mobile, Alabama; and for 10 years he served the Newness Life Prison Ministry: Directors, Pastors Oliver and Carolyn Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Rev. Karla Heningburg Wilson and god daughter Kaitlyn Arrington; two doting sisters, Cassandra (Curtis) Harris and Cynthia Wilson; and one brother, Earl (Vernice) Wilson of West Point, Virginia. Sharing loving memories are his three brother-in-laws, Kenneth (Vicki) Heningburg, Daniel (Johnetta) Heningburg, Jr, and Andrew (Maria) Heningburg; and one sister-in-law Danielle Heningburg Davis. He has many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews as well as a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, and co-laborers in Jesus Christ.
