Arcola “Seal” Duncan was born October 11, 1923 in Catherine, AL and departed this life at the age of 96, on February 15, 2020 in Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents Sidney and Mary Burrell, devoted aunt Daisy Dotch Thomas, devoted brother Joseph C. Dotch, grandson Jermon Duncan Muhammad, great-granddaughter Leela Muhammad, sister Janie Burrell Covington and brother Thomas Archie Burrell.
Arcola accepted Christ at an early age and throughout her adult life, she was a member of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church and Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Arcola leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: Patricia Wilson (Freddie), Margaret Duncan, Barbara Muhammad and Beverly Duncan; one son Curtis Duncan Jr; thirteen grandchildren, Freddie Douglas Wilson Jr, Derrick Muhammad, Jamonica Marshall, Curtis Duncan III, Erica Thomas, Terrance Duncan, Shareef Muhammad, Melanie Wilson, Tyrone Duncan, Ibrahim Muhammad, Nekeisha Duncan, Perry Duncan and Jay Duncan; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one devoted great-granddaughter Chelsea Duncan; five great-great grandchildren; one devoted sister-in-law, Mable Dotch; two devoted nephews, Norman and Gary Dotch, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Arcola’s kind and meek spirit will be missed by all that knew her. She will forever be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother.
