Obituary for Arthur William Wilcox

Arthur William Wilcox, Sr., a native of Alberta, Alabama and a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, was born on May 23, 1941 to Rosie Wilcox and Robert Brown, Sr. He departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at University Hospital in Mobile.
Arthur Sr. accepted Christ on July 27, 2018 by baptism by his cousin, Reverend Lonnie Brown, Jr.
Arthur, Sr., served in The United States Army from 1960-1966 and was a lifetime member of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles since November of 1960. He did combat duties in The Vietnam War from July 1965 to June 1966 where he was sent home early due to a series of wounds suffered during the war. He also was a Purple Heart recipient and Parachutist aka Airborne Infantry Ryman. Upon his discharge from the Army, he spent years as a crane operator at The State Docs, Security Guard at ISS in Brookley Field, and sixteen years as Security Supervisor at The University of South Alabama Medical Center upon his retirement.
Arthur, Sr. was the rock and cornerstone of his entire family for many years. He loved all of his family and his family loved him. He will be painfully missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Wilcox; father, Robert Brown, Sr.; sisters: Georgetta Wilcox, Jesie Brown, Eva Mae Young, and Betty Wilcox-Ray; brothers: Booker T. Brown, Floyd Brown, and Clarence Brown; children: 1SG Anthony Lawrence Wilcox, Sr. and Angela Denise Wilcox-Jackson.
Arthur, Sr. leaves to cherish his precious memories a faithful, devoted and loving wife of fifty-eight years, Henrie Mae Wilcox; devoted children: Veronica Jones, Arthur W. Wilcox, Jr., Charles Wilcox and Tencie Wilcox; sisters: Inell (Phillip) Bush, Nancy Lee, Ida Mae Jackson, and Annie Bell Hunter; brother, William Wilcox, Sr.; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one devoted, Anthony LeCarl "Hero" Wilcox; a host of loving nieces, one devoted, Leora Wilcox, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, one devoted, Alphonse Williams.
