Obituary for Audrey Mickey Battles

Audrey Cecillia "Mickey" Battles, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. born January 18, 1943, quietly drifted into eternal rest on Monday April 5, 2010 at her home. Mickey enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. She attended The Most Pure Heart of Mary. She was an active and devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a pass member and Grand Lady of Knights of Peter Claver ladies Auxiliary Court 210. A greeter and usher of St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of the altar society, and Director of the Women of Community Service Branch of the Job Core until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents Ethel and George Leland; two sisters, Clarice Springer and Jackie Watson; and brother Butch Milligan. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 .5 years, Walter L. Battles, Jr. a devoted son Thaddeus (Lisa) Battles of Mobile, AL; devoted and loving daughter Tamara (Battles) Osburn of Atlanta, GA; loving grandchildren; two sisters; four sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; one Goddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of devoted friends and a large extended family. Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1703 Dublin Street, Mobile, AL.
