Benjamin Nathaniel Matt was born December 12, 1949 to
Eager and Mary Matt in Mobile, Alabama. He departed this
earthly life Friday, March 3, 2023.

Ben was employed with State of Alabama, Department of Mental
Health as a Supervisor for twenty-five years of dedicated service
until he retired in 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eager, Sr. and Mary
Matt; sister, Ella Beard; brother, Eager Matt, Jr.; and niece,
Carmen Maye.

Benjamin leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jessie Matt;
daughters: Jennifer Reed, Marilyn Reed and Zora Reed;
grandchildren: Elbert, Sigourney (Kenneth), Veronica; great-
grandchildren: Portland, Aiyanna, Baileigh, Carter, Kenneth Jr.
and Kenji; one sister, Linda Stanley; sisters
-in-law: Eva, Linda, Dorothy (Oscar),
Elizabeth, Annie William and Iletha;
brother-in-law, David Jones; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives
and friends; devoted neighbors: Raynorris
and Diane Murphy, Steve and Glenda Smith.
