Obituary for Bernard Dayton Malone

Bernard Dayton Malone was born on January 13, 1961, to the late Joel Malone, Sr., and the late Mary Alice Malone. Bernard was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. He passed away on July 23, 2023, at Twin Oaks Rehabilitation Center, Mobile, Alabama.

Bernard joined Morning Star Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, at a young age. He attended schools in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from Toulminville High School in 1979. He was in the high school marching band and was the Tuba section leader. Bernard attended Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama, with the intention to study Engineering. He was a master of numbers and math; he enjoyed science and was eager to learn more in the Engineering field. Later in his life, he was a bass guitar player and always loved music.

Years later, Bernard found his passion and followed his heart in the field of Culinary and became a professional Chef. Over the years, he traveled throughout Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana, to pursue a career in Culinary. He worked for several different restaurants and truly enjoyed showing off his culinary skills for the Madison Family Reunions.

Bernard was proceeded in death by his parents: the late Joel Malone, Sr., and the late Mary Alice Malone, of Mobile, Alabama; two brothers: Joel Malone, Jr., and Alfred Malone, of Mobile, Alabama; a nephew: Quincy Brackett of Mobile, Alabama; and a sister-in-law, Ruthie Malone, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

He leaves to cherish loving siblings: James Malone, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Alice (Frank) Dixon, and Jerome Malone, all of Mobile, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Linda Malone, Mobile, Alabama; (5) uncles, (6) aunts, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Bernard had a number of devoted care takers: Frank & Alice Dixon (Brother-in-law & Sister), Jerome Malone (Brother), and Sherrie Malone.
