“Celebrating 85 Years of Life!”

 Bernice Dixon Hudson, a native and lifelong resident of Prichard, Alabama was born on June 18, 1937 to the union of Badie and Minnie Dixon, Sr. She departed this earthly life on Friday, January 27, 2023.
 
Sister Bernice accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Saint Wisdom Primitive Baptist Church and later joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until failing health prohibited her from continuing her service.
 
Sister Bernice attended Marengo High School. After moving to Mobile, Alabama, she worked in the hospitality industry for over forty years. She always had time to listen and give good advice. She was a true role model for all whom she came in contact with.
 
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Tyus; parents, Minnie and Badie Dixon, Sr.; three sisters: Louise Dixon Tensley, Minnie B. Dixon and Ola Mae Mitchell; and one brother, Bobby Dixon.
 
Sister Bernice leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband of sixty-five years, J.T. Hudson; three devoted daughters: Delores Whitney (predeceased by Allen Whitney), Janice (Jerome) Lafayette, and caregiver, Belinda (Darrin) Pettis; one grandson, Quentin Pettis; three granddaughters: Tameka Hudson, Selena (James) Knight, and Erica Tyus;
four great-grandchildren: Ava Lewis, Karli Knight, Jaxon Hampton, and Jakobi Knight; three devoted sisters: Zeola (Hollis) Brewer of Mobile, AL, Willie Mae (Emmitt) Worthy of Birmingham, AL and Lucille Dixon Lockett of Sweet Water, AL; one devoted brother, Badie (Dora) Dixon, Jr. of Sweet Water, AL; one sister-in-law, Mamie Evans of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
