Obituary for Bobby Ray Pickett

Bobby Ray Pickett, 69, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on April 5, 2022.

Bobby was born on April 20, 1952, to Bertha Autry. After graduating from Murphy High School in 1971, he was drafted into the military and served for 7 years rising to the rank of Sargent. Bobby also served 8 years with the Army National Guard. Bobby studied at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, The University of South Alabama, and Bishop State Community College. He went on to work at the Mobile County Sheriff department for over 15 years until his health failed him.
In 1972, Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Queenetta and they went on to have three children, Tracey, Casey, and Stacy. They also raised two foster sons Kennan, and Isaiah. Bobby spent his time coaching football at the Boys and Girls Club and served as Vice President of the Mobile County Criminal Justice Society. Bobby also loved gardening, culinary art, history, geography and watching old western movies. Bobby was baptized in the Church of Christ in 1983.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Autry, his devoted aunt Theola Evans who raised him from a child, aunt Ida Ma Mitchell, sister-in-law Carolyn Autry, and in laws Freddie and Elizabeth Christian. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 49 years Queenetta, who was also his caregiver for many years after his health failed. Bobby is also survived by Tracy (Robert) Coleman, Casey (Collin) Pickett-Horace, Stacy Pickett, Sophia Law, his brother Dr. William Autry Sr., his grandkids Gabrielle Williams, Xavier Horace, Kayla Horace, and Christian Horace, in laws Diane (Walter) Craig, Doris Wright, Barbara Dunson, Pam (Joe) Hill, Ferna Bradley, Doyle (Annie) Christian and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
