Camilla Griggs was a native and a lifelong resident of Prichard, Alabama. She departed this life on November 17, 2018 at a local hospital. Camilla was born on September 15, 1933 to the union of Ben and Pearl Griggs. She was a member of the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Levon C. Manzie. She was ordained to be one of the mothers of the church in 2016 were she served faithfully.
Camilla was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Pearl Griggs, three brothers, Ben Griggs Jr., Jerry Griggs, James Griggs Sr., two sisters, Lottie Mae Noah and Pearline Ward.
Camilla leaves to cherish her memories four devoted children, Silvia (Lee Noil) Kennedy, Benjamin (Cynthia) Griggs, Ricky Griggs, and Leonard (Sherry) Griggs, six devoted grandchildren, Cheryl (David) Williams, Darnell (Aisha) Kennedy, Joslyn Kennedy, Stefon Coram, Shiloh Coram, and Trinity Coram, six devoted great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Jalynn, Jordyn, Parker, Paxton, and Jerimiah a devoted nephew Hezikiah Ward, a devoted niece Ivy Gamble, and devoted friends Dollie Jackson, Mary Fancher and a host of relatives and friends.
