Carrie Mae Reed

Mrs. Carrie Mae Reed, a native of Atmore, Al and resident of Mobile, Al. She transitioned peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

Carrie was born on August 3, 1959, to the late Gilbert and Carrie Bell Pryear. She was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Reed, Sr., and four siblings Gilbert “Billboy” Pryear, Elizabeth Coleman, Dorothy Ann Dortch and Henry Lee Pryear.

She retired from Fairhope Inn & Restaurant in 2008 from the Hospitality Industry. From that time on she really enjoyed life. She spent the rest of her years with family and friends. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. She always knew how to fill someone up not just with her good food, but with her personality, being positive and loving to everyone. She was affectionately known as mom by so many.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memories four children Monica (David) Young of Loxley, Al; Clarence (Jennifer) Reed, Jr. of Foley, Al; Alfreda Robinson of Mobile, Al; Ryan Reed of Mobile, Al; one devoted son Christopher Robinson of Semmes, Al; and four bonus daughters Christine Carter, Melissa Reed both of Fairhope, Al;Latisha “Nicole”Gaines of Daphne, Al; and Vina “Pooh" Peterson of Point Clear, Al.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Brooke (Johnathan) Cox of Bay Minette, Al; Ernest Holloway, Jr. and Christian Robinson of Mobile, Al: Darrius Pough of Loxley, Al; Aislinn and Jareyun Reed of Point Clear, Al; Chynna and Channing of Foley, Al; Corlando (Danielle) Bivins of Al; three bonus grandsons James, John Carter, and Charlie Kean of Fairhope, Al. Last, but not least one great-granddaughter Amaya Dancer of Bay Minette, Al. She is also survived by four siblings Noah (Annie) Pryear of Loxley, Al; Roy Lee Pryear of Robertsdale, Al; Ola “Mae” Bertolla of Stapleton, Al; and Carl Lee Pryear, Sr. of Mobile, Al. One devoted friend Mr. Johnny Lee Stanton and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends, whom she loved very dearly.
