Obituary for Carrie Mae Steen
Carrie Mae Brown Steen, born September 17, 1950, departed this life for her heavenly home on December 21, 2019. Carrie was a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Matrons ministry.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sammie Brown and Mary Lou Harris Brown; and her sisters, Ruth Martino and Mary Brown Mohammed. She will be remembered most for her outspoken personality, her liveliness, and her compassionate spirit towards others.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving sons, Terry (Cynthia) Steen, William (Kimberly) Steen, III, and David (Ebony) Steen; her sisters and brothers, Cora Alford, Geraldine (Frankie) Jemison, Doris (Allen) Frank, Sammie (Delores) Brown, Jr., Willie James (Ava Gail) Brown, Ervin (Mary) Brown, Charles Brown, and Johnny Brown; her grandchildren, Latreice Thompkins, Terrica Smallwood, Tremaine Kimbrough, Randy Steen, Quantavious Steen, Quantiva Steen, Brianna Steen, Terry Steen, Antonio Steen, Robert Steen, D’Averee Steen, Ivoree Steen, and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, one close family friend, William Steen, II.
Visitation will be from 1-8 pm at Smalls Mortuary on Friday, December 27th. Funeral services will be at 11 am at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
