Obituary

Charles Douglas Reese also known as “Die Hard” was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 1, 1956. He transitioned peacefully on July 28, 2020 in his home at the age of 64.

He was a proud graduate of Lillie B. Williamson High School and a dedicated fan and follower of the Mighty Lions Football Team. After graduation he entered into the workforce and later retired from the City of Mobile Public Works Department.

He was the husband of twenty-five years to the late JoAnne Alene Nathan Reese. Also, he was preceded in death by his parents Inez Marie Dillard and Charlie Chapman Reese.

He leaves to cherish three beautiful daughters also known as his 3 Stooges Zatavia, La’Tonya, and Letitia Reese all of Mobile, Alabama; one half-sister Gloria Reese Cowart of Covina, CA; four grandchildren Daidren, Ayrian, and Jaddius Curry and Keon (Joycelyn) Burroughs all of Mobile, Alabama; a devoted cousin Karen Reese of Mobile, Alabama; two sister in laws Anna Nathan Lett of Mobile, Alabama and Rosa Nathan Lyons of Meridian, MS; one brother in law John Mitchell of Mobile, Alabama; an adopted daughter as he would call her Katina (Joseph) Wingfield and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I will truly miss you my CB friend. You were one of the first person I meant when I moved to Mobile 22 years ago. Your friendship and memories will always be treasured. Rest in peace now Diehard, the storm is over now. Until we meet again in heaven. Zookeeper

I have only known Mr. Reese a short time, but I am grateful for the privilege of meeting him. He lived his life the way that he wanted to live it. I can appreciate that.
