Obituary for Charles Smith Jr.

Mr. Charles Smith Jr. a native and resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on June 25,2022.

He confessed Christ as his Lord & Savior at an early age. Mr. Smith proudly served our country in the Army from 1960 to 1966. He’s travelled the world several times and visited many different countries while working as an Engineer Merchant Marine for 30 years before retiring. During retirement he became restless and decided to embark on a second career at Mobile Community Action, which he worked for several years before finally settling into retired life. Despite all of his endeavours and accolades, the most important thing in life was FAMILY!!!

He was preceded in death by both parents, Charles (Ruth) Smith, Granddaughter Tykeshia Autry, Great Grandson Malik Smith and last but not least his Soulmate of 58 years Beatrice H. Smith.

He leaves to cherish his legacy and loving memories; Five children: Reuthie (Ken) Smith, Reuben (Kathy) Smith, Robbie (Gerald) Moore, Rakema (Fred) Miller and Charles C. (Kolita) Smith; Eighteen grands: Deneitia (Chalie) Smith, Reno Jones, Jamequa (Willie) Stallworth, Tony (Betesia) Jackson, Keon (Krystal) Smith, Quinton (Jessica) Prayer, Fred (Donya) Miller, Mario (Jakyra) Smith, Ariyan Smith, Kaylyn (Ray) Miller, Lynell Woods, Trevon Smith, Charles “C.J.” Smith, Gerald Moore II, Jaquan Miller, Krishaun Williams, Jarrod Smith Colston & Lakinsky Dickerson; Fifteen great grands: JaKorey Smith, Jamarr Winston, Kade York, Liam Stallworth, Kash Smith, Ethan Stallworth, Fred Miller Jr , Kazi Smith, Kurrency Smith, Cohen Stallworth, Ray Williams, Laylan Woods, Lynese Woods, Jarrod Colston & Canzion Colston.; Three bonus grands: Gerica Moore, Zoe Moore and Clinton Prayer Jr.; One bonus great grand Loren Sellers.
