Obituary for Charles Levert Thomas

Deacon Charles L. Thomas was born February 3, 1948, to Mary Alice (McConico) Benson and Charlie “Peter” Thomas. He exchanged this life for eternity at Arabella Health and Wellness on Friday, April 19, 2024. He was a diligent servant of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Daphne, AL where he actively served in the Senior Ministry and a deacon until his health failed.

Deacon Thomas graduated from Baldwin County Training School Class of 1966 and Alabama State University. Upon completion, he worked and retired from Spraying Systems Company of Chicago, Illinois for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie “Peter” Thomas; dad, L.C. Benson; brother, Lawrence Thomas; sister, Shirley Thomas; and stepson Bernard Mables.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his wife, Beverly Thomas; a loving and devoted mother, Mary Alice Benson; a caring brother and sister, Eddie (Pam) Thomas and Yvette Jones Bracy both of Daphne, AL; one sister-in-law, Anne Thomas of Jackson, AL; five children, Katina Thomas of Mobile, AL, Charles L. Worthean, Sheriece Worthean, Charles Brodnax, and Tanika Wilson all of Chicago, IL; step-children, Natasha Mables and Patricia Mables both of Chicago, IL; two adopted sons Patrick Mables and Andre Mables both of Chicago, IL; a devoted niece and caregiver Amanda (Darrin) Houston of Fairhope, AL; and a devoted cousin, Sharlene (Kenny) Barge. In addition, he leaves his memories to 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends especially, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Deacons and Senior Ministry and Sunrise Baptist Church Deacons of Chicago, Illinois.
