Obituary for Claudell Blakely Sr.
Claudell Blakely Sr age 74, was a native and resident of Prichard Alabama. He was born on Saturday, August 26, 1945, to the union of Willie and Annie Taylor Blakely. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Wilbert, Arthur, Johnny, and George Blakely.
As a child, Claudell Sr confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Gospel Chorus.
Claudell Blakely Sr, was educated in the Mobile County Pubilc School System. He was a graduate of M T Blount High School Class of 1963, where he excelled in basketball and football. He attended Carver State Tech and received an A.S. Degree in Commercial-truck driving and Auto bodywork. He was a Commercial driver for Poole Trucking Co for a number of years.
Claudell Sr exchanged his earthly life for God's promise of eternity on Thursday, December 19, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory, Two Sons; Claudell(Tamara) Blakely Jr and Carlos Blakely Mobile, Alabama; One Sister Ann(Otis) Lewis Dayton OH; Two Brothers Samuel(Sandra) Blakely, Eclectic AL and Richard(Antoinette) Blakely Sr, Mobile, AL; Four sisters-in-law, Clotilda Blakely, Mobile, AL, Evelyn Blakely, Prichard AL, Jonella Blakely Brown, Chicago IL, and Jeanette Early Blakely, Aurora, CO; Two Aunts Vivian Taylor and Carolyn Blakley; One grandson Caleb J. Blakely; Two-step grandchildren, Megan and Dylan; special nephews Charles and Kenneth Blakely and cousin Dorothy Harris, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Services will be held for Claudell Sr. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 210 West Clark Avenue Prichard Al 36610; Rev Sylvester Adams Pastor. In-Lieu of flowers the family would like for all donations be given to Cedar Grove Grove Baptist Church in Claudell's name.
