Obituary for Curtis Lee Watts

Curtis Lee Watts, a native of Dallas County, Alabama, and lifelong resident of Mobile, was born on March 31, 1939, to the union of Herman and Minnie Lee Watts. He attended Jackson Olin High School in Birmingham before moving to Mobile and meeting his wife. He is preceded in death by his loving parents and siblings, James Ruddie Watts, Sr., and JoAnn Watts Smith.

At the age of 40, he retired from Delchamps Warehouse where he worked as a Foreman. After retirement, he, then, shifted to entrepreneurship by opening Curtis' Place and, later, Michael's Lounge. He served dutifully as owner and operator for over four decades. He retired in 2019.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of nearly six decades, Lorine Watts; children, Paul Watts, Michael Herman Watts, and devoted daughter, son-in-law and caretaker(s), Bernadette Watts (Carlos) Burroughs; grandchildren, LoRen (Donquiel) Modisa, Javier Holmes, Miguel Watts, Michelle Godfrey, and London Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Eriana Modisa, Emoree Lawson and Malala Modisa; one living sister, Eloise Watts Threatt; two sisters-in law, Henrietta (Ruddie) Watts, Theresa (Earl) Woods; two brothers-in-law, Herrie (Dorothy) Reed and George (Louise) Moore and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
