Daisy Lee departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. She was born August 2, 1944 to Chester B. Canada and Willie Katherine Parker. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one sister, two brothers and one great granddaughter. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents Burrell and Lucy Canada who raised her and grandmother Alice Canada.
She accepted Christ at a young age at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Beeville, Texas under the leadership of Rev. E.W. Meade. She moved to Mobile, AL where she united with Lily Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Julius Williams. She was a faithful member. She served in the Nursery, Matrons, Youth Choir Counselor, Voices of the Lily, Women's Day, Pastor's Aide and was a nurse of the church.
She was a also a member of the Sunlight District Nurses Guild and Usher Board. During her illness she cared for babies and loved caring for the elderly. She was an active nurse for 25 years.
She Leaves to cherish her memories are two Daughters- Mary L. Ferguson (Emmett) of The Colony, TX; Tracy E. Lee of Mobile, AL and one Son-David A. Lee II (Althea) of Houston TX. She leaves nine grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews and a host of family and friends in Beeville, TX and Los Angeles, CA.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Lily Baptist Church, 358 Kennedy Street, Mobile, AL 36603
