Obituary for Daniel Jenkins

Daniel "Boone" Jenkins was born on March 21, 1949. He was the oldest born to the union of the late Aaron Jenkins and Gladys Finklea-Jenkins, in Camden, Alabama. At an early age, he joined the Greater Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Alabama, under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Carson. Daniel served in various capacities of the church, but what he enjoyed best; was singing with the Male Chorus.

Daniel was a proud member of the graduating class of 1968 Rosa Lott High School Citronelle, AL. He was employed with Searcy Hospital and Leon's Paint & Body, Mt. Vernon, AL. He was also employed by Kimberly-Clark paper company after (35) years he retired.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Elbert Jenkins Sr., his sister Sandra L. Jenkins and his nephew Elbert Jenkins Jr.

Catching the morning dove Friday, August 30, 2019, at 6:08 a.m., Daniel departed this life. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of (47) years Geraldine Jordan Jenkins, loving and devoted daughters, Melva Jenkins, Marquita Jenkins, devoted grandsons, Daniel L. Jenkins and Christopher all of Mobile, AL; devoted sister, Machell (Joseph) Law, devoted brother, Kenneth (Bettie) Jenkins, both of
Mt. Vernon, AL: loving and devoted aunts, Climmie Edward, Coram, N.Y., Nellie Harrison, Detroit, MI; brother-in-laws, Richard (Rita) Nichols, Saraland, AL; Solomon (Barbara) Jordan Sr., Mt. Vernon, AL; Edward Lee (Deborah) Jordan, Citronelle, AL; and Robert Jordan, Pensacola, FL; sister-in-laws, Clara (Paul) Diale, Montrose, AL; Mary Jordan, Chickasaw, AL; and Kathy Jenkins, Charlotte, N.C., uncles, Jimmy (Juanita) Jenkins, Mt. Vernon, AL; Willie (Carolyn) Jenkins, Jackson, AL; and Zeedee Shoemaker, Jacksonville, FL; and godmother, Minnie Cheese, Mt. Vernon, AL; a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
