Obituary for Donald L. Morrissette

Deacon Donald Morrissette a native of Mobile, Alabama, transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at his residence in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 65. Deacon Morrissette was born to Deacon Jessie & Felicia Morrissette of Plateau, Alabama. Our Beloved Deacon was ordained on June 20, 2011 by Destiny Fellowship for Safe Haven Christian Center where he served faithfully for 15 years. His professional skills as a carpenter & truck driver blessed many throughout our community and statewide. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: General, Jessie, Jimmie, and Alfred Morrissette and two sisters: Beulah Blackmon and Annie Persons. He leaves to cherish his memories to his beloved wife, Pastor Janice Morrissette of 37 Years; his children: Elder Tamitha (Charles) Humphrey, Devon L. (Jan) Morrissette, Legal Guardian of Lovick & Jaquise Silvers; his grandchildren: Tashara Cage and Officer JaMorris Cage, TaMiah Poellnitz, Javonna, Valani, Kaleena, and Devon Morrissette Jr, Venice James & Micaiah Humphrey; devoted mother- in-law, Hattie L. Portis; four sisters: Bernice & Katherine Morrissette, Alfreda Coleman, and Kathleen Turner; devoted nephews: Wade & Herman Blackmon, Jr; brother-in-laws: Rev. Melvin (Opal) Smith Sr, Pastor Thomas (The Late Ina Smith Sr.) of Omaha, NE, Deacon Jessie (Cynthia) Portis, Jeremy (Shunton) Portis; sister-in-laws; Myra (Deacon Claude) Brown,Vanita Portis, Elect Lady Lauretta Files (Apostle Thomas Files) all of Mobile, Alabama; beloved adopted siblings: Pastor Eric & Pastor Deborah Ward of Ocean Springs, MS; devoted friends: Senior Pastor Theo Washington, Bobby Turner & Pastor Jeffery Mackie; a host of nieces nephews, family and friends; devoted church family, Safe Haven Christian Center Members, Bishop David & Overseer Gloria Sylvester, New Dimensions Worship Center, and Destiny Fellowship. The Celebration of Life Services will begin on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Safe Haven Christian Center, 803 MLK, Jr. Drive, Prichard, AL 36610 with the viewing starting at 5:30pm followed by a Reflection of Life Service from 6pm-8pm. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until the 11:00am Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at The Greater Showers of Blessings (COGIC), 705 Telegraph Road, Prichard, Alabama 36610 where Prophet Charles Buchanan is the Pastor.
