Obituary for Dorothy E. Hopkins

Mrs. Dorothy Jones Hopkins, 95 a native of Mobile, AL was born March 30, 1925 to Agnes Joseph Jones and Lucius Jones. She departed this life for her eternal home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Mrs. Dorothy Hopkins was united in marriage to the love of her life, the late Mr. Leslie Hopkins, Sr.
Mrs. Dorothy Hopkins was preceded in death by her siblings, Roberta, Annie Lee, Joseph, and Peter. She was a former member of the Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. She later moved her membership to the New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior 550 Club and served as a member of the usher board.
Mrs. Dorothy Hopkins leaves to cherish six loving and devoted children, James
Jones, Evangelist Yvonne H. Morrisette, Leslie Hopkins, Jr., Melvin (Sharron) Hopkins, Joe Paul Hopkins all of Mobile, AL and Henry (Gayla) Hopkins of Tuscaloosa, AL. A devoted daughter-in-law Linda Hopkins of Mobile, AL. Sixteen grandchildren Diane Morrisette, Marcus (Carla) Morrisette, DeMario (LaPrenda) Morrisette, Crystal (Bishop Maurice) Williams, Jeremy (Kim) Carter, Melody (John) Tucker, Darren Hopkins, Desmain Hopkins, Nina Thomas, Ashley Parker, Paul Winfield and Pamela Trainer all of Mobile, AL. Retired Staff Sergeant Daric (Pamela) Morrisette of Columbus, GA, Apostle C.M. (Pastor Natasha) Mitchell of Lufkin, TX, and Natasha Finley of Los Angeles, CA. Twenty-three great
grandchildren. She leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, one late devoted friend Yvonne Mauldin (AKA Honey), one very devoted and loyal neighbor Augustine Thomas. A very Special thanks to Hadley Medical Center, Infirmary Wound Care, Vascular Center of Mobile, PC and Mobile Infirmary ICU.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 9am until 11am funeral Hour at Small's Mortuary. Interment will take place at Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL. Services entrusted to Small's Mortuary 950 Broad Street, Mobile, AL.
