Mrs. Dorothy Jane McCorvey was born September 7, 1960 in Marengo County, AL to the late Jessie and Lucille McCorvey. At an early age, she confessed her believe in Christ and later in life united with New Faith Baptist Church.
Dorothy departed this life for eternity on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lucille McCorvey; her son, Christopher McCorvey, Sr.; and her brothers: Grant McCorvey, Grover McCorvey, Johnny McCorvey, James McCorvey, Royal Brown and Hurston McCorvey.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories a devoted husband, Larry Smith of Mobile, AL; four daughters: Laquisha (Jason) McCorvey, Jalanda (Keenan) Shute, Emitha (Albert) McCorvey and Breanda Flanning all of Mobile, AL; a son, Sanwon McCorvey of Mobile, AL; one sister, Betty (Johnny) Walker of Boston, MA; one brother, Jessie (Gail) McCorvey of Linden, AL; twenty-three grandchildren, two devoted, Tamya Beard and Jykeria Beard and nine great-grands along with three step-great grands; a host of nieces, nephews, one devoted, Clifford (Scooter) Johnson; cousins, other relatives and friends.
