Obituary for Edward James Bright

Edward James Bright, was born August 6, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama. A devoted husband, loving father, dedicated grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many, he was the rock of his family. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Cather Lee Bright (Edward Ward and Goldie Chappell), and sister, Carolyn Harris.
Edward confessed Christ at an early age joining Bethel A.M.E. church under the leadership of the late Rev. Lewis. He later joined Revelation Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. David L. Frazier, Sr.
He was a 1965 graduate of Central High School. After graduation, he attended Bishop State Community College and Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. Edward went on to serve his country in the United States Army on January 10, 1969. He was a welder and worked in multiple shipyards in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. He retired from the Mobile County Public School System.
He was united in holy matrimony to his devoted and loving wife, Brenda Iszard Bright for 47 years. Through this union they were blessed with two loving daughters.
Edward departed this life on Saturday, November 24, 2018, in a local hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of forty-seven years, Brenda Iszard Bright, Mobile, AL; his two daughters, Nicole Bright, New Orleans, LA; Melissa Bright, Mobile, AL; a brother, James Chappell, Dayton Ohio; a sister, Vanessa Randall, Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Jabria, Khari, Nathaniel, and Nia Hooker, New Orleans, LA; Camari and Johnathan Bright, Mobile, AL; and a host of other devoted family and friends.
