MRS. EDWINA TYSON STEWART

Affectionately Known As "Mrs. Edwina" and “Momma Wina”
Edwina Tyson Stewart, was born to the late Henry and Mary Tyson on January 3, 1937 in Mobile, AL.
Edwina was a proud graduate of Mobile County Training School Class of 1956. After graduating high school, Edwina accepted a job and moved to Chicago where she met and married her devoted husband, Jesse Stewart. They shared many years of love and happiness together before his transition in 1995.
Sister Stewart had a strong faith in Christ and became a faithful member of The New Christian Springs Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Johnny Harris upon her return to Mobile, AL in 1995.
Mrs. Edwina was a “foodie” and enjoyed her “double scoops” during her daily ice-cream socials. She was a talented cook, avid gardener, loved to play Bingo, and had an extreme fondness of ALL children. She never met a stranger as exhibited by the special bond and friendship she formed with Ms. Marsha Orr during her stay at Mobile Nursing and Rehab.
Edwina was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Stewart; and siblings: Ethel Mae (Jew) Whitt, Essamenia House, Marjorie Moore, and Altheria (Genola) Carter.
Edwina leaves her cherished memories with her siblings: Earlene Tyson Whittaker of Eight Mile, AL, Rudolph Tyson of Prichard, AL, and James (Margaret) Tyson of Bolingbrook, IL; one very devoted great-niece Rhonda Whitt of Mobile, AL; God-child Jessica Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
