Mrs. Ella Mae Minter McDowell was born October 3,1953 in Sardis, AL to Bessie Lee Minter.
Ella accepted Christ at an early age and still maintained her faith in God. Ella was a dedicated employee of Ideal Nursing Home and Saad’s Home Health of Mobile, AL for over 20 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending her free time cooking, shopping, and talking to her sisters over the phone.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Jackson.
Ella leaves to cherish her memories, a loving mother Bessie Pendleton. Her loving and devoted husband Lavern (Moody) McDowell. Three loving and devoted children; LaVette Rush, Lavern M. (Stank) McDowell, and Lavern K. McDowell. Two loving and devoted grandchildren; Alexia Cunningham and JaKobee Matthews. Her loving and devoted sisters and brother; Alfreda (Cornell) Bradley, Inez (Alfred) Earl, Jacqueline (Terry) Penn, Bernadette (Michael) Sellers, Jessie Minter. Two brother in laws; Myles (Vickie) McDowell, and James Burrell. A host of nieces and nephews. One loving and devoted aunt; Ethel Gardner. A host of cousins, one devoted; Sally Minter. And a host of friends, one devoted Delphine (Mose) Dubose.
