Obituary for Elmore Pate Sr.

After 84 years, Elmore Pate, departed this life for his eternal resting place. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jarvis Grayson; son Elmore Pate, Jr.; his parents and his brother.
Elmore faithfully served as Pastor of the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years where he was dearly loved and respected. His retirements included the U. S. Marine Corps, the U. S. Postal Service, and Pate’s Electrical Service. His professional affiliations and accomplishments included: Masters Electrical License in Mobile County along with licensure in all surrounding cities of Mobile; Electrical Board of Examiners for City of Mobile and Prichard; Electrical Inspector for City of Prichard (Board President for over 20 years); Mobile County Community Advisory Board for UOP Chemical and African Archive Museum Board of Directors.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Carol Pate; daughters Tyna (Percy) Harris and Shelia Pate; sons Michael Powell and Sheldon C. Jordan; sister Mary English; Sister-in-law Julia Pate; Daughter-in-law Sharon Pate; grandchildren Phillip (Taylor) Harris, Paeton Harris, Rachel Wilson, Tonique (Patrick) Burns, Shanette Gunn and Tony (Larry) Gunn-Tolbert; great grandchildren Naomi Harris, Rylin and Ryleigh Wilson.
Visitation Thursday, March 11 from 4pm to 8pm and Friday, March 12 from 9am until the 10:30am Funeral Service at Small’s Mortuary. Interment immediately after service at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL.
