Sister Emily McCants Mitchell was born to January 2, 1942 to Nick and Lela Turner McCants. She was a lifelong native of Baldwin County until she traded labor for reward on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Sister Mitchell was a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Loxley, AL under the leadership of Pastor Markes D. Mosley. For many years, she was the “Avon Lady” in Baldwin County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mitchell; two daughters: Elizabeth and Gloria Mitchell; and one granddaughter, Evan McCants.
Sister Mitchell leaves to cherish her love and memories to, four daughters: Roxie (Reverend Elvis) Milton, Denise Jenkins, Vera McCants and Jackie Thompson; two sons: Jermaine (Sharita) Mitchell and Carl Mitchell; brother, Eddie (Bertha) McCants; three sisters: Ruby Moore, Willie D. and Minister Mary Brady all of Orlando, FL; close cousin, Randell (Nita) Dailey; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jeredine Cousin of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Willie Stallworth of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
