Ms. Emma Alexander, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL born August 11, 1932 departed this life on Monday, September 3, 2018 in the comforts of her own home. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Good Shepherd where she served as a faithful member of the Alta Guild and Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Henry S. Alexander and Mrs. Zemma C. Alexander; her son, Ivan Antonio Abrams; her granddaughter Marlie Dumas; six sisters: Geraldine Alexander, Lela Mae Pugh, Marian Cook, Bessie Mae McCarty, Dorothy Kennedy, Myrtle Williams, Anna Mary Winfield; four brothers: Clarence Alexander, Daniel Alexander, Henry Alexander and Frank Alexander.
She leaves to cherish her memory one loving and devoted daughter: Dyrian Hope Abrams; two sisters-in-law: Bessie Alexander and Alice Alexander; a devoted and loving care team lead by her niece Georgia Kennedy; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Small’s Mortuary 950 S. Broad Street. There will also be a visitation held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:30 AM until the 10:30 AM funeral hour at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 605 Donald St, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
