Erma Gussie Ella Young Forrest was born April 7, 1929 to the union of Dave & Arcola Young in Marengo County, AL.
Erma (EG) accepted Christ at an early age. After being one member of the first graduating class of 1947 from Marengo County High School. She moved to Mobile, AL where she later met the love of her life Aaron Gilbert Forrest III and was Wed June 28, 1951. After this union she became a loving wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She loved cooking and taking care of her family.
But on Monday October 22, 2018 she exchanged mortality for immortality. On this day she took the hand of an Angel, was pinned her wings, and soared away to the land of Eternal bliss. Where everyday is Sunday and Sabbath has no end.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Dave & Arcola Young, Her husband of 43 years Aaron Forrest III, Grandson Kevon Forrest Yelder. Six sisters: Ethel Hill, Nashville, TN; Hattie Paige Los Angeles, CA; Jannie Hobbs, Los Angeles, CA; Edgar Vell Smith, Saraland, AL; Nistea Berry, Eight Mile, AL; Elma Gray Banks, Satsuma, AL. Three brothers: Porter Young, Mobile, AL; Harzell Young, Los Angeles, CA; Bobby Young, Saraland, AL.
She leaves to cherish her memories six children: William (Marion) Forrest, Greensburg, LA; Elston (Audrey) Forrest, Lafayette, LA: Kevin (Alicia) Forrest, Mobile, AL; Carman Forrest, Mobile, AL; Jacqui (Jefferey) Forrest-James, Mobile, AL; Gerald (Joyce) Forrest, Bossier City, LA. Eight grandchildren and eleven great-grand children
A host of loving nieces (one devoted and close in age Margie Ree Patton, Nashville, TN), nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
Her earthly journey will be complete when she will be reunited and laid to rest beside her husband at St. Elmo Cemetary at the intersection of Beverly Road and Cemetery Road, Irvington, Mobile County, AL 36544
