Obituary for Ethel D. Merriweather

Ethel D. Merriweather was born in Mobile, AL on April 30, 1930 to the union of the late James Lee and Annie Bell Davis. Ethel was a graduate of Central High School and was highly involved in the community. She was a faithful member of Christian Union Primitive Baptist Church for over 70 years, Order of the Eastern Star Juliette Chapter #613 for 25 years, Heroines of Jericho Miriam Court #59 and Order of Cyrene Crusaders Springer & Coachman Court #33. Ethel was employed at Providence Hospital for over 25 years. In addition, she was employed by Vascular Surgeon Dr. Frank McPhillips for 40 years and Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Joseph Ray, for 14 years.
Ethel was proceeded in death by her late husband Amos Merriweather, her siblings April Davis, Jimmie Lee Davis, Robert Earl Davis, and Sarah Guy. She leaves to cherish her memory, one devoted daughter Deborah M. McGrew, two grandsons Robert DeMario McGrew and Brandon Littles, five sisters Viola Davis, Patricia (Solomon) Davis, Sylvia (General) Dials, Jocelyn King, Candace (Hubert) Rhodes, one brother Chris (Daisy) Davis, four sister-in-laws Priscilla Phillips, Mary (Willard) Williams, Dorothy M. Merriweather, Earnestine (Franklin) Owens, nine brother-in-laws James L. White, Bennie L. Merriweather, Roger Merriweather, Roosevelt (Stephanie) Merriweather, Jessie (Rhonda) Merriweather, Eleazar (Wanda) Merriweather, Wheeler (Joe Ann) Merriweather, Ned (Linda) Merriweather, Abner (Christen) Merriweather, close friends Betty Richardson, Maggie Buford, Rose Swartz, Carolyn Gandy, Velma Stallworth, Deloris Wyatt and a host of other extended family, friends, and loved ones.
