Obituary

Minister Ethel Reed Watson received her wings at home while waking up from resting on Thursday night, July 2, 2020.One beautiful day as Fall was ending and Winter was soon approaching, Ethel was born to the union of Sam Henderson and Mary Lee Byrd Henderson on December 2, 1952. Ethel was blessed with a lovely voice and sang with a band during her early years in life. She was known as “Ladee Luv.” She later gave her life back to Christ and united with Beginning of Knowledge Church, Rev. Fernando Smith, Pastor. Ethel founded an online ministry called New Faith Ministries where she continued to use her blessed voice to inspire others to come to Christ.
Ethel was preceded in death by her father, Sam Henderson, mother, Mary Lee Byrd Henderson, brother, Sam Davis, Jr. and sister, Carolyn Witherspoon.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Herman James Watson, Sr.; Two sons: Corey Henderson, Lewiston, ME and Herman James Watson, Jr., Mobile, AL; one daughter, Kizzi Rashawn Butler, Mobile, AL; fourteen grandchildren: Je’Marquez Henderson, Corey Henderson, Jr., both of Lewiston, ME, Tyrone Craig Jr., Houston, TX, Charity Butler, Christopher Butler, Jr., both of Mobile, AL, Cameron Butler, Goldsboro, NC, Christiana Butler, Mobile, AL, Caleb Butler, New Orleans, LA, Markel Everette, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Breanna Watson, Brandon Watson, Brenton Ruffin, Braxton Watson and Brian Watson all of Mobile, AL; Five great-grandchildren: Dillan Patterson, Chase James, Kensley Butler, Brelynn Ruffin, Brenton Ruffin Jr. all of Mobile, AL; Three brothers: James Davis, Nathaniel Davis, and Larry Byrd, all of Mobile, AL; Five sisters: Joan Davis Coker, Betty Jean (Lavon) Thornton, Mary Helen Davis, Janice Davis Hicks, and Sharon (Roosevelt) Ankum all of Mobile, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
