Obituary for Eugene Cordell Carson

Eugene Cordell Carson (Hike) was born on March 3, 1957 and departed this life for his eternal home on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his residence.

Eugene was a faithful employee of Steiner Shipyard as a Retired Foreman.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie and Caroline Carson; two sisters: Henrietta Carson and Linda C. Hawkins; five brothers: Mickey, James, Clarence, Johnny, and Joseph Carson; one nephew: Jerry Carson.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories five children: Isaac Presley of Houston, TX; Denzel Carson, Mark Clemons, Britney (Cleatus) McCaulley, and Lashieka Henderson all of Mobile, AL; six sisters: Ann Carson, Tammie Carson, Clementine Carson, Gwendolyn Carson, Wilhelmenia Jones, and Patricia (Rev. Daniel) Moore, all of Mobile, AL; seven brothers: Eddie Gray of Birmingham, AL, Rickey (Victoria) Carson, Sr. of Mesquite, TX, Evans (Ola) Carson, Henry Carson of Theodore, AL, Wilmer Carson, Melvin (Margaret) Carson all of Mobile, AL, and Milton Carson of Columbus, GA; one uncle: Edwards (Dell) Abrams of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren: Alexia Quinnie, Tramarques Pettway, Clayton Fletcher, Chastity Fletcher, Sebasterian Fletcher, Treyjuan Bendolph, Taquan Watson and Shalahjia Watson; two great grandchildren: A’nyia Quinnie and Tchwoskie Phodes; devoted niece: Georgia Carson of Mobile, AL, a devoted girlfriend: Olga McClain; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 1pm - 5pm. at Small's Mortuary, Theodore, AL. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at First United Methodist Church, 5425 Washington Blvd, Theodore, AL 36582.

Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL.
