Obituary for Flora Ellis Cannon (Sellers)

Sister Flora Ellis Cannon was born on May 24, 1922 to the late John Bishop Sellers and the late Julia Conoly in McKees Rock, Pennsylvania. Sister Cannon and her siblings were raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on March 10, 2019.

Sister Cannon pursued a career of practical nursing and graduated from Choffin School of Practical Nursing in Youngstown, Ohio as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was dedicated to her profession until she retired.
She married Tommie Lee Cannon in 1942 and they moved to his childhood home of Baldwin County and relocated to Spanish Fort, Alabama in 1984. During her retirement, she dedicated herself to the loving care of those in nursing facilities until her second retirement.

Sister Cannon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommie L., Cannon, Sr.; brother, Reuben Sellers; sister, Arcelean Julia Sellers and grandson, Walter Damon Clark.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Tommie Lee (Sandra) Cannon, Jr., Youngstown,OH; daughter, Anita, who cared for her, Spanish Fort, AL; sister, Dr. Lois Belle Sellers, Daphne, AL; four grandchildren, Carla Smith, Fairfiled, CT: Randie Pirro, Stratford, CT; Lisa Clark, Columbus, OH; and Katrina Clark, Youngstown, OH; four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She also leaves close family in Ohio, Pennsylvania, colorado, Bermuda, Georgia, Florida and Alabama .
