~Obituary~
Mrs. Flora Mae, “Tee Tee”, Prince, age 87, was born on December 3, 1935, to the late Nathaniel and Elnora Gilchrist in Magazine Point, Alabama. A lifelong native of Mobile, Alabama, she peacefully left this life for eternal rest on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
Flora Mae is a product of the Mobile County Public School System. She worked in the system for several years, as well as Head Start. She also worked for the Williams Motel for many years. Flora Mae was a caretaker, and she loved to cook. She would feed any and everybody. She never met a stranger; there were many people that she took in to live with her. Flora Mae was one of the kindest and loving people that anyone has ever met. She loved fishing and traveling.
She confessed her love for Christ at an early age, and was a dedicated and active member of the First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Flora was a member of the Senior Choir and the John McCarthy Chorus. She was a faithful member until her health started to decline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Prince, II; two daughters, Viola and Janell Prince; and one granddaughter, Roselyn Snell; three brothers, Nathaniel, Jr., Willie C., and Kenneth Gilchrist; and three sisters, Betty Heard, Evelyn Gilchrist, and Monica Smith.
Flora Mae leaves to cherish her memories, four loving daughters, one devoted Theresa Gilchrist; Chenavia Gilchrist, Sharon Stewart, and Daphnee (Anthony) Frieson; four sons, Harvey Gilchrist, Jimmy (Felicia) Prince, III, and Steven and Nathaniel Jackson; one brother, Clifford (Theresa) Gilchrist; ten granddaughters, Velisa and Carmen Gilchrist, Daphnee Frieson, Kennedi, Imani, Jada, Chloe and Halle Jackson, Nicole Johnson, and Erika Ely; ten grandsons, Abe, Marcus, and Jaron Gilchrist, Broderick Haggins, Anthony, Theron (Christina), and Darren Frieson, Ceaser Rowser, Dontavious (Erica) Johnson, and Ray (Ashlee) Jones, Jr.; one grandson-in law, Joseph D. Snell; nine great-granddaughters, Mateja (Crist) Young, Angel Gilchrist, Zoe and Zakiya Snell, Ayanna Stewart, Aaliyah Frieson, Aaliyah Johnson, and Charm and Caisley Rowser; seventeen great-grandsons, Markez and Caleb Gilchrist, Zion Snell, Zamaryon Smith, J’Nard Wheat, Jaiden Bailey, Theron Jr., Anthony Jr., Ryan, and Ashton Frieson, Carter Burke, Zende, ZeCorey and Zachary McMillian, Gabriel Rao, and Dalain, Ashton, and Aiden Jones; two great-great granddaughters, Taylor Young and Christine McMillian; and two great-great grandsons, Korian Booker and Kaiden Young, a special cousin, Allen (Charee) Gilchrist, and a host of other relatives, and friends, one devoted, Annie Knight.
