Obituary for Florence Lue Ransom

Florence Ransom, a resident of Mobile, AL, was born October 10,
1936 to Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Murphy, Sr. On the morning of
December 5, 2019, the angels of silence came on hushed feet and
quietly visited our loving mother and sealed her lips in death. She
succumbed to the will of our heavenly father, who beckoned her to
a place of eternal peace and rest.
She was a faithful member of the Temple of Jerusalem Cathedral
until her health failed. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in
God and the love and prayers of family, friends and many
supporters carried her through. When you think of this virtuous
woman, you will think of strength, think of courage, think of love,
an icon of what a mother and grandmother should be. A personality
that’s worth millions, but her heart, now that’s worth trillions. She
touched a multitude of lives, through her words, or thoughtful acts
of kindness. She had a strong Christian foundation, a prayer warrior
chosen by God and believed greatly in the power of the Holy Ghost.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cleveland Ransom,
Sr.; sons: Cleveland Ransom, Jr. & Harry Ransom; parents: Mr. &
Mrs. Clarence Murphy, Sr.; brothers: Clarence Murphy, Jr., Willie
Murphy, Samuel Murphy, Sr. & Eddie Murphy; sisters: Bertha
Nettles & Ella Dee Harris; and granddaughter, Ashante Monique
Burrell.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted family,
children: Eunice (William) Burrell, Judy (Kevin) Ward, Mark
Ransom & Vincent Ransom, Sr.; grandchildren: Harry Bracy,
Kenyatta Ward, Brittney (Kenrick) Dailey, Jasmin (Jason) Frazier,
Latosha Burrell, Vincent Ransom, Jr., Fulton Ransom, Ashley
Ransom & Dana Crawford; ten great-grandchildren; one devoted
sister, Dorothy Richardson; devoted sister-in-law, Elora Bassett;
devoted niece, Lisa Pierce and devoted friends: Delores King and
Jay & Cathy Cotten. She also leaves behind a host of nieces,
nephews, extended family and friends. She will be truly missed and
never forgotten.
