Obituary for Frederick Maurice "BossHogg" Blackmon Sr.

The world became a brighter place on May 20, 1978, the day God created Frederick Maurice Blackmon Sr., affectionately known as Boss Hog. With a fighting spirit and Jesus on his mind, his earthly body transcended into glory on February 24, 2024, under the watchful and loving care of his devoted mother.

Though he never received formal training, God anointed Maurice's hands to construct and restore beauty in houses. He loved the outdoors, roaring throughout the country on his Harley Davidson. Maurice was a fighter, defying the odds and living longer than expected with a debilitating disease.

He was a true testament of God's goodness and mercy, leaving his beloved/devoted mother, Catherine Laughlin; devoted step-father, Samuel Milton Laughlin; three sons, Markeice Terrell Lucas; Frederick Maurice Blackmon Jr. and Kendrick Maurice Blackmon; one daughter, Kierra Virginia Catherine Blackmon, all of Mobile; one granddaughter, A'moura Danielle Lucas; one brother, Robert Eugene Blackmon; a loving bonus brother, Anthony Peterson, all of Mobile, and a host of other relatives and friends.
