Obituary for Fredrick Alexander Dangim

Fredrick Alexander Dangim aka “Freddie” was born on January 20, 1954 in Jamaica Queens, NY. His parents were John Henry Dangim and Bertha Dangim (who preceded him in death). Freddie had three siblings: one sister, Patricia A. Davis and two brothers: Michael Dangim and Christopher Dangim.

Freddie was raised and educated in Queens, NY. He was also a member of Mt. ion Baptist Church in Jamaica Queens, NY. As a young man, Freddie relocated to Mobile, Alabama to care for his paternal grandmother, Cora L. Thomas, who he took care of until her death. While he was in Alabama, he met the love of his life, Idell shivers with whom he spent 40 wonderful years. Freddie also had a step-son, Donald W. Shivers.

Freddie was a hard worker and as a tradesman, enjoyed painting and restoring homes. His hobbies were exercising, traveling and enjoying the company of his friends and family. His special friend was Coby, the family dog.

Freddie fought a brave battle against cancer, and passed away June 30, 209 at his home in Daphne, Alabama. He leaves to cherish his memory, life partner, Idell Shivers of Daphne, Alabama; step-son, Donald W. Shivers of Daphne, Alabama; one sister, Patricia A. Davis of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers: Michael Dangim of Atlanta, GA and Christopher Dangim of Santa Fe, NM; three nieces: Kimberly R. Davis of Orlando, FL, Tanika R. Chukwumerije of Houston, TX, and Anastejah Dangim of Atlanta, GA; two nephews: Shawn L. Davis of Tampa, FL, and Malachi Dangim of Atlanta, GA, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
