Obituary for Geneva Hardie

God called home to glory his devoted and dedicated servant, Geneva Hardie on December 12, 2020 while at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Geneva was a faithful member of Renewed Hope who maintained that mustard seed of faith; trusting in God until her work was done here on earth.
Geneva Hardie was a native of Alberta, Alabama and a resident of Birmingham, Alabama. She was born on May 13, 1946 to the late William and Mary Johnson. Geneva was a long-time educator in the Birmingham school system where she created lifelong bonds with her colleagues and students that still exist today.
In 1969, Geneva joined in holy matrimony with the late Joseph Hardie and began to build and shape one the strongest family bonds of this generation (49 plus years).
Geneva loved to help others as she mentored and nurtured many as an educator, a loving family member, and a loyal friend. Geneva was certainly the spiritual glue that held her family and friends together.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Hardie; brother; William James Johnson and her sister; Nellie Freezel.
Geneva Hardie leaves to cherish her life, legacy and love for Christ to her son, Carlton (LaKeshi) Hardie of Buford, GA; her daughter, Precious Marcus of Birmingham, AL; her step-daughter, Lewanna (Barry) Gallagher of Birmingham, AL; four beloved grandchildren: Christian Marcus, Landon Hardie, Caleb Timmons, and Ashton Hardie; four sisters: Jessie Lymons, Irene Small, Lucy (David) Rooks, and Velma Johnson; four brothers: Clinton (Betty) Johnson, Frank Johnson, Brady (LaVerne) Johnson, and Roy Johnson; sisters-in-laws: Josephine Hardie and Grace Rupert and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
