Obituary for Gerald Leroy Stevens

Gerald Leroy Stevens Sr. was born December 31, 1949 the fourth child to James and Beulah Patton Stevens. Gerald gave his life to the Lord at St Peter Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He served there until he left for college and resumed his service upon his return . He then continued to faithfully serve many leadership roles . He was a Deacon, Chairman of Special Day programs and member of the male and adult choir.
Gerald loved the Lord and loved serving his people until he became too ill.
Gerald grew up in a loving Christian family and home. He loved to play sports and board games. His intelligence and creativity in school opened doors for many scholarships to college. He chose Lincoln University where he graduated with Honors and received his Bachelors in Psychology and was also accepted into Who's Who Honors of America.
To Further his fulfillment of healthy living , fellowship, laughter & love, GERALD founded Steves Steppers - his talented performance organization that expressed all of his desires through dance . His teaching & form allowed him to impress many & led to his craft being one of the most rejuvenating In the community.
Brother Stevens is proceeded in death by his wife Rebecca Fox Stevens , mother Mrs. Beulah Patton Stevens , His father Mr. James Stevens Sr and his brother James “Steve “Stevens Jr. He is survived by His children, Gerald (Courtney) Stevens Jr. and Nicole (Tyrone ) Stevens-Thomas; Brother, Charles Steve Stevens Sr and Sister, Leoteen Stevens; three grandchildren: Jayden Thomas, Garrison Stevens and Camden Stevens., and an array of loved nieces nephews, cousins and steppers.
GERALD Stevens Sr never met a stranger, never forgot a face and found love in his heart for everyone. His legacy will forever leave impressions of his footsteps In our hearts.

Repass will be served at the church after internment

The family extends Special Thanks to Southern Cancer Center , Saads hospice, Pro health and each and every individual that offered their time , meals , assistance to our family and love . You will forever hold a place in our hearts . Thank you to all for your support,, prayers, calls flowers ,cards . Whatever you have done to strengthen us at this time went not unnoticed by God nor the family.
